Hello everyone! This is my new photo blog. I’ve spent a lot of time researching blog templates, and I finally settled on this one, and I am excited about 2010 and my opportunity to display my work here.
Yesterday, I did a photo-shoot with Marcus Shirock. Marcus is an actor and lives in LA, and our goal was to capture him as both an ancient barbaric warrior, and a Native American. Marcus’ grandfather, Chief Turkey Tayac, of the Piscataway Indians, was the last chief who was born in the 19th century to die in the 20th. He is buried in a State Park across from Mt. Vernon, the home of our first President, George Washington. We shot these photos in the park itself – it was the first time Marcus had been back for 17 years. This photo is just a teaser from not only one of my favorite shoots, but a shoot that is without question one of the most interesting, grueling, but rewarding days I’ve ever had. More about that to come when I post more from this shoot – there’s a lot more to come!
